Just had to share the amazing day I had at Dunstable Live yesterday! We celebrated 40 years of Dunstable Town Council and took a trip back to 1985, remembering the epic Live Aid concert.
I jumped in at 2 PM and stayed till the end, and let me tell you, the vibes were incredible! Residents were so excited they set up at noon, even though we didn’t start until 2 pm.
Kicking off the event as Dunstable Town Mayor was super exciting, and meeting all the performers & residents was a blast. Huge shoutout to Penrose Estate Agents for sponsoring this event and for the climbing wall. I gave it a go despite my fear of heights my landing was more of a funny tumble Thanks for supporting my mayoral charities too Hospice at Home Volunteers - Dunstable & Houghton Regis areas & CHUMS.
My consort who is my sister at Jules Kimondo, enjoyed her day too. My daughter joined us briefly.
Loved seeing Liz Jones - Community, Cllr Matthew Neall, Cllr Wendy, Cllr Nick, and Deputy Mayor Richard there. The tribute acts for U2, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, and David Bowie were just fantastic.
The Summer of Music is all about bringing people together, and it was heartwarming to see all the smiles and laughter.
Big thanks to BBB Group, St John Ambulance - South Bedfordshire, Home Counties Toilet , Home Counties Toilet Hire, SRM Security, and Luton Waste Services. I just love how these events unite our community!
Oh, and I grabbed a cool reusable souvenir cup too. Plus, the Accessible Viewing Platform for wheelchair users was a great addition.
Well done to Dunstable Town officers for putting this together & John Chatterley - Community for capturing these amazing moments. Not forgetting Cllr Liz Jones for capturing my dance moves and photos. Thank you
Can’t wait for more days like this! #DunstableLive #CommunityFun #SummerOfMusic #DunstableTownCouncil #DunstableMayor
